The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) has been asked by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to take a leading role in the delivery of pension dashboards. MaPS is a new organisation. It brings together the services provided by the Money Advice Service, Pension Wise and the Pension Advisory Service. It is sponsored by the DWP. Its role is to ensure individuals have access to the advice and information needed to make effective financial decisions throughout a lifetime.
The Pensions Dashboard hopes to give people control over financial choices through life. It is hoped that the dashboard will provide access to key information about the pension funds they are enrolled within. It will help to understand how to manage these pensions and how they can engage actively with this pension fund throughout life.
On June 3rd, 2019, Chris Curry was appointed the Principal of Pensions Dashboard Industry Deliver group. Mr Curry was involved in the DWP advisory and review group in 2017. He comes with much experience of auto-enrolment and with many connections. His background in economics, with an MSc from Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London, gives him ample qualifications for shaping a vital scheme for people’s future financial health.
