Certain companies and financial advisors have been cold calling individuals. These companies advise that they have been elected to act on the behalf of the Government to investigate pensions and their charges and offer to visit homes to obtain signed authority forms. The cold callers fraudulently say this is in conjunction with a Government initiative to offer free and unbiased pension advice.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FDA) has advised people not to respond to cold calling requests and not to disclose any pension details over the phone to cold callers. Individuals looking to review their pension should contact an FCA-regulated company.
If you would like to report an incident, please contact your local police force using the non-emergency number 101.
